The photograph collection is one of the major strengths of the Archives. Containing more than 300,000 prints, negatives, and slides, the holdings document significant people, places, occupations and events. Major collections include Gainsborough Studio, McCorkle Studio, Maple Creek News (1890 - 1990), CHAT-TV, and Holmes Printing.

Reproductions of the images in the Archives Image Bank are available for purchase in various formats; photo prints, laser prints or digital files to your specifications.
Please be advised that in addition to the reproduction fees, there will be a Usage Fee applied to any image intended for exhibit or publication, and you will be required to sign an agreement limiting your usage.

SEARCH TIPS
Type a word, phrase, or search expression in one or more of the
search boxes. Letter case is not important.
Type a word, phrase, or search expression in one or more of the
search boxes. Letter case is not important. Example: Typing “baseball team” retrieves that phrase exactly wherever it is used. Typing “team” retrieves more results and will include teams of other sports and also horse teams.
To do a wildcard search shorten the word with a “*" at the end of
a string of letters. Example: " brick*" will find brick, bricks, brickyard, brickyards, bricklayers etc.
AND - To narrow a search, use "&" between the search
terms. Example: "downtown & cars" will find records
in which both words occur.
OR - To broaden a search, use "/" to stand for “or” between the search terms. Example: Entering "steamboat / steamer / steamship / paddlesteamer / paddlewheelers / paddlewheeler / riverboat" will find records in which any one of these terms occurs.
NOT - To search for one term but not another use "!" between the search terms. Example: "team ! horse*" will find the records given in the first example with the horse teams filtered out. (note wildcard “*” usage at end of word horse which will exclude the word horses as well)
