There are many individuals and organizations who celebrate our community’s rich cultural heritage. Visit their displays in the Esplanade’s main floor lobby throughout the day to find out more about these amazing resources! You can even chat with representatives to see how you can become involved!

Stop by the Astronomy Club booth to learn about the stars and peer at the sun through the Solar Telescope!
Medicine Hat Coin and Stamp Club
The Medicine Hat Coin and Stamp Club will be displaying vintage coins and stamps from around the globe.
Check your coin purse – there might be something valuable in there!
Map Challenge
Be a modern day surveyor and use clues and tools to find your way through the challenge route to find the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program booth! Presented by the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program (managed by the Grassland Naturalists)
Historic Duggan House
The Ewart-Duggan House is the oldest brick residence in Alberta. It was purchased by the Sissons Family in 2005 who donated it to the City of Medicine Hat as part of the Esplanade heritage property. The house will be open all day for you to explore on your own, and guided tours (complete with stories!) will be offered at specific times (see schedule below for info).
Discovery Centre Crafts
Visit the Discovery Centre on the 2nd floor to make a special craft relating to exploration! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Making Their Mark: The Land Surveyor’s Role in the Peaceful & Orderly Development of Alberta
This exhibit is sponsored by the Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association to commemorate its 100th year as a self-governing professional association.
Marking the 49th with Iron
This exhibit features photos from the holdings of the esplanade Archives of a survey crew placing the monuments along the border between Canada and the United States in 1912.
