Unwind with a pint of your favourite local brew and immerse yourself in the fascinating stories of Medicine Hat’s past. Connect with our artifacts and touch another place and time.
Go behind the museum’s locked doors for a special back of house tour, learn the tales of three objects uncased from collections, then explore these and more for yourself as you get hands on.
Thomas Hulit, PhD
Museum Technician/Researcher, Archaeologist
Tom Hulit has worked with the Esplanade since 2009 as the Museum Technician and Researcher. His research in archaeology focuses mostly on materials and manufacturing in ancient Egypt and the middle east. His work with the Esplanade has included research and care of the collections, exhibit design and construction, and bringing the history and stories of Medicine Hat to the public. He has always been interested in how people make and use objects and how those objects can be used to help tell the stories of our community. Tom is also a long-standing board member of the Redcliff Museum. When he is not in one museum or another, he is often working at the family farm here in Southern Alberta.
