7:30 PM | Heritage Gallery

Immerse yourself in a night of Inuit art inspired by Kenojuak Cultural Centre’s (Kinnigait) exhibition Kenojuak Ashevak: Life and Legacy, currently on exhibit at the Esplanade galleries.

Enjoy an intimate atmosphere as you take your seat inside the exhibition and listen to a captivating talk by TEDxYYC speaker and owner of Transformation Fine Art (Canada’s first Inuk owned Inuit art gallery) Sophia Lebessis, as she presents “Chasing the Inuk Imagination: Insights into the Minds of Inuit Women and their Art”.

Directly following this 45-minute talk, William Huffman of the West Baffin Eskimo Cooperative and co-curator will tour guests through the exhibition, providing insights into Kenojuak Ashevak’s life and prolific career.

A night not to be missed. This immersive experience will also present the opportunity to sample finger foods that nod to traditional Indigenous cooking ingredients while enjoying the atmospheric music of Canada’s celebrated Inuit and Indigenous artists.
