Dissonance represents the 2026 graduating class of the Art and Design Program at Medicine Hat College. The exhibition explores the embodiment of many different voices, thoughts and creative approaches that come together to shape our collective identity as emerging artists and designers. What may appear chaotic at first glance opens space for deeper interpretation of strength, beauty and unity in the presence of contrast.
Dissonance spans across two locations (the One on One Gallery in the Cultural Centre and the Gallery Foyer at the Esplanade). Each features different works on display. Both exhibition sites invite visitors to experience how contrast, tension and harmony can coexist within creative practice. Visit www.dissonance2026.com for more information.
TREX Southeast is one of four regional partners delivering the Alberta Foundation for the Arts Travelling Exhibition (TREX) program — a provincial initiative dedicated to supporting Alberta artists and ensuring that all Albertans have access to visual art in their communities. By bringing professionally curated exhibitions to venues like schools, libraries, healthcare centres, and community spaces, TREX provides barrier-free arts programming across the province. TREX Southeast is managed through the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre in Medicine Hat. For more information and a full listing of exhibition locations, visit - trexsoutheast.ca.
