Fall Break Art Days
Nov 6 - 10 | 9am - 4pm | Ages 5 - 12
Drop off 8:30am - 9am | Pick up no later than 4:30pm.
Students will spend the day with Julie exploring the Esplanade and doing various activities in the Discovery Centre. Students must bring a lunch and snacks.
With our unique Art Day offering, children get the benefit of multiple community based learning resources in one program. Children will explore the exhibitions of the Esplanade and take part in play-based projects where they can exercise their imaginations, while developing their creative thinking and problem-solving skills. The afternoon may possibly include a walk with the children to explore various venues in the downtown area, weather dependent.
Fall Art Days: Full days from 9:00am–4:00pm (drop off begins at 8:30 am and pick up ends at 4:30 pm). The fee includes all materials. Some materials used in the classroom could stain clothing. Students should wear old clothes or bring an apron or paint shirt. Bring proper outdoor clothing (boots, jacket, hat etc) as we may be going on short walks.
While our projects and spaces make this program special, our arts instructor Julie Downey-Hogland, will ensure that each child has a positive experience. Equipped with a post-secondary education in both social work and fine art, she is passionate about inspiring children to achieve their full potential and to have fun while doing it! Julie has extensive experience working with children and youth of all ages and abilities. She has been creating a warm and inclusive learning space as an arts instructor at the Esplanade since June 2018 and we are very lucky to have her!
