Workshop – Finding and Telling Your Story: Some Whys, Whatsand Hows | 1-3:30 PM

As a songwriter, Dana Wylie has long known that specificityof story and experience is one of the keys to accessing a universality thatconnects us all. Storytelling is a deeply human impulse, and to engagesearchingly with one’s own story can be a powerful process of sense-making andhealing, as well as connection to others.

In this workshop, Dana will lead a discussion on the desirefor one’s story and its relation to appearance and identity, share herparticular process for writing her story in Makings of a Voice, andguide participants through a few simple exercises to get them started downthe road of engaging with their own stories – an inevitably rich andrewarding journey for writers, non-writers, and would-be writers alike.
