Welcome to JazzFest 2025!

We’re back with an incredible line-up of artists—from local gems to international stars—bringing you the very best in jazz. Enjoy free and ticketed events, club shows, workshops, an extended Hangar Dance Party, and a community jam.

This year, we’re also proud to showcase our first-ever Youth Jazz Intensive, where young Alberta musicians will have the chance to shine. We’re continuing our Youth Ticket—anyone 25 and under can attend any JazzFest event for just $20. Plus, we’ve kept the Pass Price low to make it easier than ever to join the celebration.

All of our outdoor performances have indoor backup venues nearby—rain or shine, the show goes on!

JUNO-nominated drummer Sanah Kadoura fuses modern jazz, neo-soul, and Lebanese influences with bold originality. Her 2023 album Duality—named one of DownBeat’s Best Albums of the Year—cements her as a rising force on the international scene.

Award-winning Dutch vocalist Henk Kraaijeveld leads his quintet in a genre-blending performance rich with poetic lyrics, improvisation, and emotional storytelling. With a warm voice and playful presence, Kraaijeveld brings a fresh, adventurous spirit to the European jazz tradition.

NYC jazz star Benny Benack III joins Canadian piano virtuoso Anthony D’Alessandro for a night of swing, soul, and showmanship. Expect jaw-dropping solos and irresistible charm.

Medicine Hat’s own jazz icon Cheryl Fisher returns with style, swing, and soul. Her expressive vocals and all-star band promise an intimate and unforgettable night.

Saxophones, streetwear, and funk-fueled chaos—Canada’s Shuffle Demons are back! This high-octane jazz party will blow the roof off the Terrace.

Pianist Lorraine Desmarais pays tribute to Bill Evans in a show of elegant phrasing and deep emotion. A rare chance to hear one of Canada’s greatest jazz pianists in an acoustic trio setting right on the Esplanade Main Stage.

Montuno West – High-energy Latin jazz from one of Western Canada’s most exciting bands. Guaranteed to get the dance floor moving.

Kate Stevens – Soulful vocals and up tempo grooves from CKUA host and rising star Kate Stevens. A fresh, modern take on R&B, soul and jazz.

Tyler Hornby / Audrey Ochoa Quartet – Mentors for the new Youth Jazz Intensive, drummer Tyler Hornby and trombonist Audrey Ochoa join forces for a special one-time performance. Expect an energetic, engaging set from two of Alberta’s most respected jazz educators and performers.

Youth Jazz Intensive Ensemble – The inaugural Youth Jazz Intensive includes two days of workshops led by top Canadian mentors, culminating in an opening set at the Hangar Dance Party. These emerging Alberta artists will showcase their creativity and skill through a dynamic mix of jazz standards and original compositions.

One of Canada’s top jazz fusion artists, Carl Mayotte lights up the stage with virtuosic bass and genre-bending brilliance. A bold, modern sound.
