IT'S BACK!

Step into the Historic Ewart Duggan House this October for a spooky textile-inspired haunted house experience created by Alberta artist Shanell Papp.

Explore the historic home as it transforms into a softly spooky and immersive Halloween experience, filled with eerie textile works, haunting details and unexpected surprises. Through textiles, sculpture and multimedia, Papp explores themes of impermanence, grief and the things that haunt us—balancing eerie playfulness with thoughtful reflection.

The Textile Haunted House is a come-and-go experience, so you can explore at your own pace. Make an afternoon or evening of it and enjoy additional seasonal activities happening throughout the event.

Open House Dates

October 17 | 1–4 PM

October 24 | 1–4 PM - Part of Pumpkin Smash festivities.

October 30 | 7–9:30 PM

There’s lots to see and do along the way, so come explore, get a little spooked and enjoy the Halloween season!

Downtown Giant Ghost

Keep an eye out downtown! As part of the Textile Haunted House experience, a Giant Ghost installation will appear October 7 atop the 20-foot-tall chess piece between the Medicine Hat Public Library and the Courthouse.

The ghost will remain through the first week of November, making it a fun photo stop and Instagram-worthy addition to spooky season downtown.
