Volunteer Alberta Rooted in Action Series

This learning series is a FREE opportunity for all volunteer-utilizing organizations in the community looking for resources to boost their capacity to engage and benefit from a strong volunteer base. It also offers them a chance to collaborate with others, to learn about strategies that are working well and/or to assist with problem solving. Organizations can send a representative to attend all or some of the sessions as they see fit.
The first two workshops are focused on volunteer screening. Participants will explore processes with the support from Volunteer Alberta facilitators. They will evaluate and prioritize what will help them improve and reduce barriers to onboard volunteers:

The next two workshops will focus on youth engagement in volunteerism. Community wellbeing is linked to youth civic engagement and the organizations that facilitate that engagement. The webinar will discuss general practices and success stories, while the interactive, in-person workshop will provide an opportunity to apply effective youth engagement strategies to recruit and retain youth.

The last workshop will examine today's fast-changing world when it comes to volunteerism. It will provide the ability to (un)learn outdated habits and embrace new ways of thinking which has become essential to attracting, recruiting, retaining and recognizing volunteers. This may transform how we use volunteerism as an important resource to strengthen organizations in our community.
