About Janelle Buye
I’m Janelle Buye, the owner and designer at Sweet Stems. I started working as a florist in July of 2020 and after nine months of learning from the best, I decided to open my own floristry business. I originally went to school for Business Administration, after I graduated from that program I decided to take two years of Horticulture. I worked at a greenhouse for a couple of seasons before starting Sweet Stems.
I love being creative and flowers are such an interesting medium to work with. My style of floristry often includes bright, eye catching colours. Sweet Stems has only been open for a little over a year and in that short time I have made an effort to be part of the local community and support other businesses like me. During the summer months, I try to source my flowers from local growers. I try to be really conscious of how my business impacts the local area and the world, especially when it comes to sustainability.
